I'm Timothy Phelan, a Professor at Miyagi University in Sendai, Japan. I am affiliated with The International Center and have research interests in Communication and Japanese Studies. Among other things, I teach foreign students from China, Korea, and Vietnam about Japanese culture and society (in Japanese), support Japanese student's English learning with lectures in English on a variety of topics, and advise and help all students with study abroad. My recent research is on Caucasians using Japanese in Japan.
